Meeting Dr. Ningxi Zhu
Dr. Zhu is a board-certified allergist and clinical immunologist. He practiced internal medicine, hematology and oncology in China for over twelve years before coming to the United States. He worked as a cancer researcher for six years at Emory University in Georgia before he restarted his residency training at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. He then went to Creighton University in Nebraska for adult and pediatric allergy/immunology fellowship training.
During the fellowship training, under the mentoring of Dr. Thomas Casale, a world-famous asthma specialist, Dr. Zhu finished a research project on asthma and won an award from the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI).
In 2013, Dr. Zhu joined the Allergy and Asthma Center of Corpus Christi with Dr. Stafford to serve patients in Corpus Christi and the surrounding areas.
Dr. Zhu has been very compassionate with his patients. Although he takes care of patients of all ages with a wide variety of allergic diseases, Dr. Zhu has special expertise in the treatment of asthma, eczema, hives and angioedema.
Outside of work, Dr. Zhu likes fishing and gardening. He also enjoys spending time with his wife Wendy and his two boys Zhihao and Jeffrey.
